April has been INSANE. From magazine features to showcase invitations, hitting 1K on Instagram and 1.5K on my Facebook page. So much has happened in a month that to this day, I still can’t believe it. I am blown away by the opportunities that have come my way, the doors that have opened and things I have learned along this journey. April has been a month of changes, challenges, lessons, self-doubt, anxiety, stress, frustration, but most of all, it has been fun, exciting and I have learned and grown as a person, artist, blogger, and creator.
How are ya’ll doing? A few days ago I posted on my Instagram that I needed a break or that at least I was going to try and take a break. Underline “try”. Here I am, writing a post and planning my next schedule. I didn’t post on Tuesday nor I uploaded a new video on Friday but since a lot has been going on behind the scenes and a lot of exciting things have been happening, I wanted to sit down, meditate and write about everything that I accomplished this past month.
Usually, we write and set some goals at the beginning of every month, but what about meditating about them at the end of it and seeing what you accomplished, what you didn’t, how you can be better and what you need to improve. Not to mention, to be grateful for all the things you have accomplished in the past month.
Enough with rambling. I was sitting on my couch a day after RAW SAN DIEGO and I was thinking about how much has happened in such a short amount of time and how much I have accomplished, learned and grown this past month. I decided that my next post had to be a recap of everything happened and accomplished. It is going to be a long one, but I hope you enjoy, relate and learn something from it.
Invitation to a showcase.
I was invited to be part of RAW SAN DIEGO Presents MAGNIFY. It’s an event in which local artists showcase their work. They showcase artists, painters, had crafters, photographers, hairstylists, makeup artists, designers, dancers, and musicians. The purpose of the event is to connect and gain exposure.
I was blown away when they reached out and asked me to be part of this amazing event. I will be dedicating a full post on this event because there is so much more to tell and I would have you guys here for hours. Needless to say, it was amazing, I learned so much and had so much fun. I’ll definitely want to come back next year.
I was featured in Hermosaz.com It is a blog/website that features bloggers, stylists, models and content creators from the Latino community. They reached out to me and asked to be interviewed by them, and I couldn’t say no. I really love how the Latino community is coming together and supporting each other. You can check out the full interview here.
SdVoyager is an online magazine/ blog that features local artists, bloggers, and influencers as well as events, places to visit and fun stuff to do here in America’s Finest City, San Diego. They reached out and asked to post one of my Instagram photos on their Influencer section on their website. I was beyond excited and honored to be featured in a local magazine. I cannot explain how much this meant to me. I mean, to get featured by a local magazine from the place you now call home is everything. Of course, I agreed and the interview should be going up soon.
Facebook 1.5K Milestone
If you follow me since the very beginning, you should know that I started as Dear Makeup and after 8 months or so I rebranded to Princess Miiaa. I had a Facebook page as Dear Makeup and managed to grow it up to almost 4k likes and followers. When I rebranded, Facebook didn’t allow me to change my name, so I had to start a brand new fan page. I was so bummed and upset that, although I did create it, I paid little to no attention and was kind of unmotivated to grow a brand new page again after all the hard work I had invested in the previous one.
I have been posting here and there and even created a Facebook group which still needs my attention. Recently I decided I wanted to create a schedule, create different content for all my social media and even start doing Facebook lives.
After running a few promotions and doing some Facebook lives I started to see some increase in the page’s likes and followers. I went up to 1K in a week, starting at 129. I know It’s insane. But it motivated me to keep going. I honestly wanted to hit 1K on Facebook for now and to my surprise, I went up to 1.5K. I am beyond excited, thankful and motivated to keep growing my Facebook page and to be building a community. Head over and join our family if you haven’t already. Click Here
Instagram 1K Milestone
Yo, I have been trying to grow my Instagram since I was born. For realz. Instagram can be fun and nice to scroll around, but it is sure as hell the hardest Social Media to grow. Bruh! I swear I have tried everything and I get more unfollows than followers every day. Well, thankfully Facebook bought Instagram or vice-versa, I honestly don’t know. What I do know is that if you promote something on your Facebook it’ll show up on Instagram too, I know, GENIUS. So, since I have been running promotions on Facebook they show on Instagram and I have gotten more followers. Not a lot, but enough for me to hit that milestone.
With all these accomplishments have come some tears and sacrifices. I doubted my self so much and thought I couldn’t make it. I learned that confidence is everything and that you have to believe in yourself in order to succeed. In moments like this, when you need words of encouragement and support, you know who your true friends are and who truly believes in you.
April has been amazing. A lot has happened in such a short amount of time, but I honestly could not be more grateful. I would never have imagined that I would be featured in a magazine, invited to such a big event and be noticed by so many people. This past month only gave me that extra boost and confidence I needed to keep going. I couldn’t be more happy with the outcome and this only motivates me to keep creating content and putting myself out there to the world.
Thank you to everyone who walked by my side, helped along this crazy journey, served as a model, promoter, and supporter. Thank you to everyone who attended or bought tickets for the show. Thank you to all those who shared the promo for the event or share my content and work in general. A HUGE THANK YOU to all those people who believe in me and supports me every step of the way.
